AQS Furniture was formed in 1992 by cabinet maker Neville Barnett. Neville has over five decades of industry experience. We are known for our quality. Our model is detail-led and design-driven integrated furniture. We don’t want to lose this by getting too big. We provide a high level of service to every customer, and we want to keep it that way.

NKBA CERTIFIED

An NKBA designer has earned qualification from the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA). An NKBA designer is a formally trained and qualified specialist who brings validated expertise to the planning and execution of kitchen and bathroom projects.

QUICK AND EFFICIENT

Your project will be manufactured and preassembled at our Mt Wellington workshop in Auckland. That allows efficient installation with minimal disruption to home life or work routine. If we are leading a project, AQS will liaise with other tradespeople, such as plumbers and electricians, as required. Otherwise, we can dovetail with existing designers or architects to deliver on our part of the project.

FULL TRANSPARENCY

We have a small display and consultation room – and you are more than welcome to visit our workshop to see a mock-up of your design and the build in progress. Better still, we can arrange a visit to one of our recently completed projects in the Auckland area.

We will work with you to cost your project and agree on scope and budget. We want a ‘no surprises’ outcome for our clients – so unless the scope of the project changes, what we agree is what you’ll pay.

Craftsmanship Guarantee

AQS Furniture stands behind the quality of our work. All cabinetry manufactured and installed by our team is covered by a 10‑year workmanship guarantee, including structural integrity, joinery, assembly, and installation under normal residential use.

Hardware & Surface Warranty

Hardware, fittings, and exterior surfaces (hinges, runners, handles, benchtops, and specialty finishes) are protected by manufacturer warranties ranging from 2–25 years. AQS will assist with any warranty enquiries or claims.

AQS recommendations for care & maintenance to keep your cabinetry performing at its best:

Use a soft cloth and mild cleaners; avoid abrasives or solvents.
Wipe spills promptly and prevent prolonged moisture exposure.
Protect surfaces from heat with trivets or pads.
Keep hinges and runners free of debris; contact us if movement becomes stiff.
Avoid excessive force on doors and drawers.

Standards & Compliance AQS

Furniture manufactures and installs cabinetry in accordance with NZS/AS 4386 Domestic Kitchen Assemblies, NZS 3602 Timber & Wood-Based Products, and relevant NZ Building Code clauses. Our design recommendations follow the NKBA Kitchen Planning Guidelines (5th Edition, 2026) for safety, ergonomics, and performance.
